Many online marketers will tell you that catering to Google’s or Bing’s algorithm will make your website more visible to your potential customers. While that may be true, we realized that it only paints half of the picture.
We deliver results by maintaining a balance between what the search engines want and what the customers are looking for. It’s the customers who are searching for your business and we realized that how they search for services and products is just as important as being at the top of the SERPs for chosen keywords.
And to make sure that our personnel is motivated and happy, we pay them better than what most companies in our line of business pay their employees. We also set aside some time and money to let them bond with each other and to let out their pent-up stress. The end result is that our employees are focused and comfortable when they are working, which then translates to better service for our clients.
The two co-founders started out as agents in the business process outsourcing industry in the Philippines, although for different companies. It wasn’t long before they got together (they’re great buddies at uni) and switched to freelancing, writing articles and other content.
Then, they got their big break on December 15, 2013, when electronic visa giant iVisa tapped the duo for staffing its operations team. That was when 1143 Virtual Assistance was born.
The company started out small, with 4 full-time and 4 part-time personnel working around the clock. Eventually, their main client’s customers started pouring in and the company grew to a peak of 36 full-time employees in late 2019. The company was in charge of operations, with visa and passport photo processing and customer care being their main tasks.
1143 also started working with local SEO companies early on, providing articles written by their writers for clients. The founding duo also collaborated with their clients in improving the SEO of customer websites, providing blog posting and site monitoring services.
Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, the greatest collective scare human society had in the 21st century. The initial effects of the outbreak was devastating for the company, as international travel and businesses were disrupted. 1143 had to let go of most of their personnel, having worked with them for several years.
“Then we saw an opportunity even in these troubled times. We realized that a lot of companies that provided similar services to ours closed down during the outbreak, unable to continue with their operations, and that left a hole in the niches that our company works in,” says Joe, one of the founders.
“We saw a chance and we’re taking it. Somehow we survived the crisis with our heads still above the water, and now that the market is recovering, it’s time for us to ride the wave and rise along with the economy,” adds the other founder, Harvey.
And that's where we are now.
Decades of cumulative experience in the BPO, SEO and staffing industries have survived one of the greatest crises in history and a company is now rising again like the proverbial phoenix.
The company did not grow, and would not have lasted this long, by just sheer luck. We believe that our values are the key to our clients’ success, and ours along with it. We believe that it is essential to be transparent with our clients. They have to know what we are doing or what we intend on doing as well as the reasons for doing so. Our goal is to have our clients’ trust and we are proud to say that we have achieved that goal.
